Out-Spok’n for Affordable Housing
Our annual bike-a-thon is held in late June every year in Elmira.
This event has options for everyone to participate; a family-friendly 14 or 28 km ride on the Kissing Bridge Trail, leaving from Elmira Mennonite Church heading towards either the West Montrose or Wallenstein.
For more serious cyclists, a 75km early morning ride leaves St. Jacobs Mennonite church, bikes to the Shand Dam on Belwood Lake for a mid-morning break, and then returns to Elmira in time for lunch.
Non-biker’s can still participate by going for a walk or run on the Kissing Bridge Trail.
Everyone is invited to enjoy a BBQ lunch after their ride/walk.
And for those who enjoy a different type of two-wheeled ride, a small group often heads out for a scenic motorcycle tour through rural South-western Ontario in the afternoon.
There’s no cost for the event but everyone is encouraged to raise support by having friends, family members, or local businesses sponsor their ride. All donations will receive a charitable receipt. Funds raised will go towards the construction of new affordable housing in Waterloo Region.
Out-Spok’n VIII will be Saturday June 23, 2018
Annual Meeting and Fall Concert
Our Annual General Meeting is held in late November. Information regarding the specific date and location are announced in September. We often combine this with a fundraising concert so that attendees can enjoy an night that includes a bit of business followed by a great evening of musical entertainment.
